Houston, TX, August 6, 2026 – Synsus, LLC, based in Houston, TX, is proud to announce that 2026 marks its 50th anniversary as a company.
Initially founded in 1976 in San Diego County, California, Synsus was originally known as Hocking International Laboratories. The company operated one manufacturing plant near San Diego, primarily making industrial cleaning chemicals for the fisheries industry.
During its five decades of existence, Synsus has evolved into the leader in providing innovative solutions in our customer’s brands, serving the turf & ornamental, consumer lawn & garden, and specialty agriculture markets. The company officially changed its name to Synsus in 2022, and today Synsus proudly serves its customers from four strategically located specialized manufacturing plants in the U.S., and a dedicated Innovation R&D facility.
“Reaching our 50th anniversary is a credit to the people—past and present—who built Synsus through a consistent commitment to our customers,” said Greg Crawford, CEO of Synsus. “Our success has come from listening closely, understanding each customer’s needs and developing innovative products that strengthen their brands. Our team is focused on enhancing our trusted partnerships to help our customers grow, all while not competing with them with our own brands”
Looking ahead, Synsus will continue investing in formulation and R&D capabilities, flexible U.S. manufacturing capacity, and rigorous quality systems to help customers bring differentiated products to market faster and scale with confidence. These investments will support continued growth across turf and ornamental, consumer lawn and garden, and specialty agriculture markets while strengthening Synsus’ ability to serve as a responsive, trusted innovation and manufacturing partner.
